Monday 8th May - walks **** Felixstowe prom - Sunny early, then cloudy.

Woke again to wall to wall sunshine with next to no wind, as we have my Dad, Sister and Aunt coming to visit our new Granddaughter for the first time around dinnertime ( sadly my Dad could not make as he was under the weather) and with Mag up early as usual as she still has difficulty sleeping with her arm still hurting after being broken over two months ago we decided to make the most of the best part of the day and head down to Felixstowe seafront for a stroll along the prom:) We were so pleased we did, starting off just before six, missing the sunrise but that did not matter as it was so peaceful, quiet and relaxing as we ambled all the way to Jacobs Ladder we lovely views towards Felixstowe Ferry getting a few nice pics. I was lucky enough to get one chosen as BBC ? Editor?s Pick, the first one since 21st March!!! but sadly it did not make it onto the TV. Again, the only downside was the mess left by a few mindless people who think its acceptable to leave cans, bottles and take away cartoon on the beach and under the prom seats when there are waste bins a few metres away, such a sad world we live in where people take no responsibility for their actions!!!!!! Again, we picked it up, after all its not difficult to put rubbish in a bin. We couldn?t believe how few people were out making the most of the beautiful start to the Bank Holiday, just a few dog walkers, a couple of canoeists and the usual open water dippers.
Back home I did my exercises in the still sunny back garden before making some absolutely delicious cheese scones and a sponge, my baking skills are expanding all the time with excellent help from Mags.
My Sister and Aunt arrived just after 11 and stayed till nearly 3 really enjoying meeting the Lovely Maeva who was for the best part a star although she is now having problems with her first teeth starting to come through!
Then with the company gone Mag and I decided to head down to the prom once again for a quick walk, not so nice now as it had clouded over with a few spots of rain but we did manage to avoid the forecast heavy showers today. We were going to walk towards the Manor this time as there were three out foiling but the drops of rain put us off so after a quick circuit of the pier we headed to the Spa gardens and back through the town, still walking 4.50 miles today:)

PS - windsurfing mate Ian just messaged me to say my pic was on BBC Breakfast this morning, alway pleased to make it on National TV, well chuffed and a big thankyou to Ian for telling me:)
